Compassionate care, affordable rates

After losing several close relatives to terminal conditions, I noticed their partners were often overwhelmed and unable to be fully present with their loved ones during their final moments. Family members were burdened with regret for not having shared more meaningful time with their loved ones before they departed. I began to understand that many individuals do not anticipate becoming ill or facing significant life changes when the time comes. While a lot of people create funeral arrangements, they often neglect to consider how they wish to be cared for when they can no longer manage their own needs. When medical directives are established, wills are revised, bills are settled, and finances are organized, patients tend to feel more secure. I aim to help turn that into a reality for my clients.
I received training with the International Doula Life Movement based in San Antonio. They collaborate closely with Hospice founder Barbara Karnes. What I discovered is that the role of a “Death Doula” is not a new concept. In fact, there are doulas across the globe dedicated to ensuring that those who are dying have their voices heard. The aspiration of passing away in the comfort of one’s home is a common desire, and doulas can provide support in achieving that.
